Great Skates for the Price June 11, 2008

I bought these skates just to use in neighborhood pickup games. They are great. I've had two pairs of Mission roller hockey skates and both have been well designed and durable. They were comfortable from the first time I wore them. I recommend them to anyone looking for a good mid-range skate.

I chose mission due to my positive experience with a previous pair that i bought in 97 (i still use the old ones, though they are slowly falling apart). I must say I am a bit dissapointed with the BSXs. I'm on my second pair w/in a 7 month timespan. I bought the first pair last fall, got them molded, and then kept getting blisters on my heels after about 1 hour of play. Mission states that their skate sizes are the same as the actual shoe size you wear, but that first pair was clearly bigger than the stated size (it was a size 12, and my shoes are 12 or 12.5). After about three months of 1-2x a week use, the chassis on the right skate started bending away from the boot (faulty attachments) to the point where my foot was on about a 35-40 degree angle when standing straight. I sent those back under warranty and received a new pair (the service was professional, but slow. and they sent it to my old address even though I specifically mentioned my correct return address on the package I sent, and over email communications with support staff). So after about a month of waiting, I received my new skates and for abouth 3 months use, they are pretty much flawless as of now (right size -still 12 - no blisters, no molding this time), though the tongue is uncomfortable around the top lace. Otherwise, they've been holding up for being used twice a week for pickup and rec level league games. I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this pair, but will probably try another brand next time
